Help Spread the Word!
After starting this vlog I quickly realized the great need that it fulfilled for people suffering with inflammatory bowel disease, especially for people considering surgery after years of living with a torturous colon. Doctors and surgeons are good for talking to patients about medicines and treatments, but only another IBD sufferer can truly appreciate the ins and outs of daily living with this condition.
But this vlog isn’t about us and what we’ve done. The content on this site is largely driven by you, the faithful viewer. When I was in between surgeries and first thought of this vlog I only had ideas for 9 or 10 videos. Most of the ideas for videos now come from people like you who have asked me questions about what it’s like living with IBD, living with an ileostomy, and living with a j-pouch.
Here’s where we need your help: If you’ve found this vlog helpful and think other people would also find it helpful, help us promote this vlog in the hospital where you get treatment.
How does this work? We’ve prepared printed materials (rack cards) that we am willing to send to you if you promise to distribute them to your hospital. These simple cards are an easy way to tell other patients about this vlog and how they can find it.
To promote this site:
1. First talk to your doctor, surgeon, or nurse and ask them if they would promote The United Colon Vlog to their patients. Make sure they know this site isn’t a substitute for proper medical advice, but instead compliments medical advice by showing the personal side of living with ulcerative colitis.
2. Contact us and let us know how many rack cards you want. We can send you 50, 100, 200, 400, as many as you think your hospital will use (or how many they ask for).
3. Email us your address and we will ship them out to you ASAP. We’ll even ship internationally to any country in need of the materials. Don’t worry about the cost of shipping or the cost of the printed materials. We’ll cover the cost; you get them into your hospital.
And that’s it! Simply talk to your clinic, let us know how many you want, we’ll send them to you, and you bring them in on your next appointment. Let us know what clinic you go to and we’ll make a list of the places who support The United Colon Vlog.
Again, this isn’t about us and our glory. It’s about helping those who are in the same position as us and have nobody to talk to about IBD.
We believe those of us who’ve been helped in our struggle with IBD must do something to give back to the society that has helped us so much. Do your part to help others suffering with IBD and who are looking for somebody to talk to and relate to by helping us with this project.
If you’ve found this vlog helpful and think other people would also find it helpful, help us promote this vlog in the hospital where you get treatment.
Thank you for all your hard work in making The United Colon Vlog a success.
Keep fighting,
~Dennis
