An abdominal abscess is a pocket of fluid/pus that is infected in the abdomen. This video explains what it is, what are the symptoms, and treatment.
Additionally, I have added this small clip, video taped by my dad as per my request. This video is me right after the doctor did a small surgical procedure to place a Jackson Pratt Drain into my backside to drain an abdominal abscess. Although some of this video is comical, and I can laugh at myself and my antics under anesthesia, (especially when I talk about the famous pop singer Jay Sean not calling me haha! and the audio book that I’m supposed to be writing) (NOT!) it is also a personal glimpse under anesthesia and how it effects my emotions as you see how hard I am sobbing. I do not remember any of this and although I cry out in pain (because it did hurt), the scene is a bit dramatic.
There’s some good information my mom talks about and how calm she is in explaining things to me. There’s so much random dialogue and I fall in and out of that sleep state at times, because when I am under anesthesia, I have no idea what I am doing. I have no problem with anybody laughing over some of my craziness, but in all seriousness, when dealing with a medical issue, you have to go through so much that people don’t get to see, and you are very vulnerable. This is a ‘not-so-pretty’ aspect to me having this disease. Everything about this disease is ugly. So, please understand that although this might seem silly and funny, and in parts it is (hilarious), I hope you respect the reason I posted this and put myself out there to share this part of my journey. Thank You.
