I mail a package of ostomy supples to the address list on your Web site on 2/19/2012. UPS is having a hard time delivering these supplies and wants more information. I hope these supplies get to you soon, it would mean alot to our family that others can use them. I’m unable to figure out why UPS needs more informtion pr what info thay need.

I’m not sure why they cost so much. Partially I’m sure because they are medical supplies, and since insurance often covers part of the cost, they figure they can charge a little more. Second, the quality control in the manufacturing process is probably higher than with Ziploc bags: they come sterile, the adhesive has to be good on the flanges, and the pouches have to be durable and free from error. That extra quality comes with a price. These are just my guesses.

Why do these bits of plastic cost so much? $3.69 for a glorified ziplock baggy is obscene.

I had my take-down in 2009 and have some supplies. As soon as I am able to get them somewhat sorted and boxed up, I will gladly provide this greatly needed assistance to someone who may NOT have been as fortunate. What you are doing is a wonderful thing. Living with both UC and PSC has opened my eyes to see a different and unexpected view of the world. Now that I have found your blog, I will definitely try to check back a least once a week. Thank you for what you are doing.

My friend just passed away, and I have so much colostomy supplies, I have the address, the boxes aren’t sealed but they have not been contaminated at all. Am I good to send to the address above? I just can’t bring myself to throw them away when I know someone else can get use out of them. Please let me know if it’s okay to send them.

I have no insurance and cannot get any medical help I have 5 hernias and go through 3 or 4 bags per day I am at wits end because I cant buy them ,dont make that much money as they are so expensive I feel like a prisoner in my home almost to imobililitated so as they dont come off the nurse says the hernias are causing this .but cant have surgery have been on life support twice am 47 yrs old and my 5 children our raised please could someone let me know who helps have had my illiostomy since 2010 have tried most of the popular companies to no avail,
