A patient’s experience with rectal cancer and treatment

March 12, 2012

The Swedish Medical Center Seattle has a great video about one patient’s experience with rectal cancer. He talk a little bit about the staff at this particular hospital and how good they were; this video probably doubles as good PR for the hospital. You can ignore that part of the video as I’m sure most of you will never go to this hospital. Everything he says, though, about his worries about getting a colonoscopy to coping with his diagnosis may provide you with some perspective on rectal cancer should you be given this unfortunate diagnosis.

Keep fighting,

  1. Colon and rectal cancer is the third most common cancer for both men and women in the US. This year, nearly 150,000 people will be diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer and over 50,000 people will die from the disease. Some strides have been made in prevention, and fewer cases are being diagnosed each year.
    thanks again! :)
