Facing ostomy surgery for a second time
November 2, 2010Facing ostomy surgery for a second time, there is still a lot of fear and worry, but I have had an ostomy before, so I don’t have the fear of the unknown. I do know what it’s like, and I have an idea of what to expect. The second time going into this, I can take steps to fix what went wrong the first time.
As I am facing this, I’m beginning to wrap my mind around it, and I’m looking forward to the ways my life can improve with an ostomy. I know physically, my body will undergo changes, but this will become my new normal. I’m going to try to look at everything more positive. An ostomy won’t hold me back. In fact, I think it will give me strength to hopefully do more.
For anybody facing ostomy surgery for the first time, second time or more, it is a life saving, health saving procedure. Don’t let it change who you are. Look at it as your battle wound for fighting this horrible disease.
This is your hope for a better chance at life. Use it.
