How may people have IBD and have never have loose bowel motion ?

What exactly do you mean by “loose bowel motion?” Are you talking about diarrhea? From my experience, everybody with IBD has diarrhea; it’s one of the main symptoms. That doesn’t mean they have it all the time. They can go through periods of life with relatively normal bowel activity. But during flares, a person will have diarrhea.
I Have Crohn’s/Colitis diagnosed for 5 years at the moment I am on Methotrexate Injection 1 ml 25mg / prednisolone and Salofalk tablets and enemas and have never had diarrhoea other than catching Gastro a few times in my life. Most of my life I been constipated (very hard stools) and just wondered who else is like this. I do pass a lot of blood and clots and congealed blood and small amounts of mucus when I have a flare up but always hard stools I have to maintain a very high concentration of fibre in my diet and drink lots of water. I have had all the drugs but have had a reaction to them so I have gone from Methotrexate tablets to injection, the salofalk has been ok but does not help during a flare up so they will be starting me on infliximab in the next few months. I just seem to read about all these people with IBD and having diarrhoea this is not the case with me. A Family member had UC only with Bloody diarrhoea but had their colon removed a few years ago so I do know all about loose bowel movements diarrhoea.
