Feeling useless
August 24, 2009After surgery, during flare-ups, and during hospital stays, you have a lot of free time in which your goal is not to do anything but get healthier. For those who are inclined to find meaning in life through work and action, having all of this downtime can be very depressing. It’s hard not to feel like a useless burden on society.
However, try not to let your downtime get you down anymore.
Keep fighting,

Watching your video brings tears to my eyes, as I lay on my hospital bed ( 4th day) I found hope in your words, I suddenly don’t feel alone anymore, there is someone out there who understands what I’m going through.
Thank you for taking time to do these videos and put together this wonderful website, some us who just got diagnosed with uc not only need the facts about the disease but equally important is the emotional staff that comes with it.
Again, thank you and god bless.

It is great to hear another person who has gone through the same thing I’ve been through. Often it feels lonely because not very many people can relate.
