Catalan Subtitled: My Scars

July 24, 2009

Add a third language to the Translation Project: Catalan. Being the ignorant American I sometimes am, I had never heard of this language until approached by a speaker of it from Spain. That’s where the language is primarily spoken by a smallish number of people. But they get ulcerative colitis too.

The first video we’ve translated into Catalan was chosen mostly for its short length. More videos in this language will come in the future.

Keep fighting,
~Dennis

  1. My colectomy was not done laproscopically but with the vertical incision that is mentioned. It starts about 3-4 inches above my belly button, proceeds around the belly button stalk, and then back to the middle abdomen line and down another 4 inches or so to the pubic bone. The incision has since healed, surgery being 8 years ago, leaving a white/red incision mark with little or no raised/indentation contours. I still get itchiness associated with nerve regrowth around the incision occasionally.

If you would like pictures or videos, I can supply.
