My Throbbing Colon
January 14, 2009My throbbing colon was part of my struggle with ulcerative colitis. Perhaps you know what I am talking about. It bothered me that it throbbed like this because I knew that wasn’t normal. And it was a constant reminder that I was sick. I don’t know if my colon did this because I was skinny or if because I was really that unwell.
Keep fighting,
~Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I had my colectomy on Nov. 14th, 2008. I remember the strange noises my colon made and the horrible pain that it gave me. I don’t remember it throbbing but the day after my surgery my surgeon came to visit me and she asked me how I was feeling. I told her that when I still had my diseased (pan colitis) colon I could feel every inch of that awful colon. Now that it is gone I can feel where it is not. She said that not too many people experience that. It has been 2 months now since surgery and I can still feel where my colon is NOT. Good riddance!!!
